El Mehdi Zeroual earned a Bachelor Degree in Communication Studies from Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane in 2009. In his thesis, El Mehdi conducted a research on the use of mobile communication by Moroccan youth. Before graduating, he did three months internship in the Ministry of National Education on GENIE project which aims at introducing New Communication Technologies to public schools.
After his graduation from Al Akhawayn University, he worked in the area of democracy and governance as a program assistant in the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI-Morocco) in the Political Parties program. Then, he worked at the International Institute of Education (IIE) as a Training Coordinator for the E-mediat Morocco, a new technology training and capacity building program for NGOs.
El Mehdi is intersted in communication especially new media (social media) and their benefits for the society as they become the main source of information and provide a an essential platform for communication.
